6. One Website / Store Usage
Unless a product specifically states otherwise, a purchased LayoutKart website or template is intended for use on one individual website or store.
If you want to use the same LayoutKart product for multiple separate businesses, domains, stores, or unrelated client projects, you may need to purchase an additional license or separate copy.
Contact LayoutKart if you require multi-site or agency usage.
7. Prohibited Use
Without written permission from LayoutKart, customers may not:
- Resell a LayoutKart website or template as a standalone digital product.
- Redistribute LayoutKart source files.
- Upload LayoutKart templates to another marketplace for sale.
- Share purchased files publicly.
- Give the original template/source files to unauthorized third parties.
- Create a competing template product substantially based on LayoutKart’s original files.
- Claim LayoutKart’s original design, template, code, or assets as their own.
- Provide unrestricted copies of the purchased template to other businesses.
- Use one purchased product to create unlimited separate websites for unrelated businesses.
8. Client Website Use
If you are a freelancer, agency, designer, or developer purchasing a LayoutKart product for a client, you may use the purchased product to create one website for that specific client, unless the product terms state otherwise.
However, you may not provide the original LayoutKart source/template files to the client as a standalone resale product or allow the client to redistribute those files.
For multiple client websites, separate purchases or an appropriate multi-use license may be required.
9. Customization
Customers may customize the delivered website for their own business requirements.
Customization may include:
- Changing colors
- Changing fonts
- Replacing images
- Editing text
- Adding products
- Changing layouts
- Adding or removing sections
- Adjusting branding
- Making other reasonable website changes
Customization does not give the customer ownership of LayoutKart’s original underlying template or reusable source materials.
10. Source Files and Original Assets
Unless expressly included in the purchased product, LayoutKart does not have an obligation to provide every development file, design source file, internal asset, reusable component, or proprietary development resource used to create a website.
Where source files are provided, their use remains subject to this License & Usage Policy and any specific license terms supplied with the product.
11. Third-Party Assets
Some LayoutKart products may use or depend on third-party resources, including:
- Fonts
- Icons
- Images
- Plugins
- Shopify apps
- WordPress plugins
- APIs
- Libraries
- Other third-party software
Such resources may be subject to their own licenses and terms.
The customer is responsible for obtaining any separate license or subscription required for continued use of a third-party resource where such license is not included with the LayoutKart product.
12. Shopify Account Ownership
LayoutKart does not claim ownership of the customer’s Shopify store or Shopify account.
Where LayoutKart sets up a Shopify website for a customer, the Shopify account should preferably be created and maintained using the customer’s own account details.
The customer remains responsible for their Shopify subscription, billing, account security, store ownership, products, customer data, and compliance with Shopify’s policies.
13. WordPress Account and Hosting Ownership
For WordPress projects, the customer remains responsible for their domain, hosting account, WordPress installation, hosting credentials, and third-party subscriptions unless otherwise agreed.
LayoutKart does not claim ownership of the customer’s hosting account or domain.
14. License Transfer
A LayoutKart product license may not be transferred, sold, sublicensed, or redistributed to another person or business unless LayoutKart provides written permission.
If ownership of a business changes and the website needs to be transferred to a new owner, contact LayoutKart for clarification regarding the applicable license.
15. Refunds and License Cancellation
Because LayoutKart products are digital, purchases are generally non-refundable after delivery, download, or access, subject to the exceptions described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy and applicable law.
If a refund is approved, the associated right to use the refunded digital product may be terminated.
16. Intellectual Property
LayoutKart retains ownership of its original:
- Designs
- Templates
- Layout systems
- Source code
- Graphics
- Documentation
- Branding
- Digital assets
- Website components
unless ownership is expressly transferred in writing.
Purchasing a product does not automatically transfer these intellectual property rights to the customer.
17. LayoutKart Branding
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, LayoutKart may retain copyright notices, attribution, or other branding included within a product.
Customers must not remove or modify proprietary notices where doing so would violate the applicable license or intellectual property rights.
18. License Termination
LayoutKart may terminate a customer’s license if the customer materially violates this Policy, including unauthorized resale, redistribution, copying, or licensing of LayoutKart products.
After termination, the customer must stop using and distributing the affected LayoutKart product to the extent required by the applicable license terms and law.
19. License Compliance
If you are unsure whether a particular use is permitted, contact LayoutKart before distributing, reselling, sublicensing, or using a product across multiple websites.
We may provide written permission or offer an appropriate license for the intended use.
